Yes! Actually if you google 'learn to crochet' you'll find all you need. All Amigurumi is, is a plush toy made from single-crochet in the round. So you start any project by making 6 stitches in a round and increasing them as you crochet around and around. That's where the patterns come in, that you're finding. Once you learn the abbreviations, those patterns will make mucho sense.
